Softies of the World

Softies of the world, unite!

You’re swaying left, you’re swaying right;

The comfy centre’s the place to light.

Softies of the world, unite!

Softies of the world, sit down,

Cross your legs and rest your frown;

Your adverb name is now a noun.

Softies of the world, sit down.

            Go back, don’t argue politics;

            That’s how tough guys get their kicks.

            You have a better bag of tricks –

            Bites will heal; get in your licks.

Softies of the world, allow!

Surrender patiently and bow;

Prestige is not a sacred cow.

Enjoy the freedom of the now.

Softies of the world, be still.

Your lack of false beliefs will chill

The mighty rulers on their hill;

They have their power; they have no will.

            March off, there’s no significance,

            No fight for indie-dependence;

            Softies prefer common sense,

            Community and innocence.

Softies of the world, awake!

The hardness of resolve is fake;

Ask St. Francis, Gandhi, Blake –

Softies of the world, awake!
